

Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area Receives $10,000 Award from 100 Women
Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area recently was awarded $10,000 by 100 Women Who Give, a Waterville Area Women’s Club philanthropic event. Hospice Volunteers provides non-medical support to individuals and their families during the last phases of life, and support to loved ones throughout the grieving process. It was one of three Central Maine nonprofits recognized at the 100 Women Who Give event held April 8th at Snow Pond Center for the Arts in Sidney, Maine.

Waterville Area Women’s Club supports a variety of nonprofits and service agencies that benefit women and children in literacy, food security, mental health, and other concerns.

Mission
Waterville Area Women’s Club and its volunteer members support numerous local charities and service agencies in the Greater Waterville Area, with a focus on those that benefit women and children.

History
In 1887, the Waterville Woman’s Association was formed by a group of women who wanted to help ease the cultural and economic strains of those who had been attracted to Waterville’s mill jobs. Learn more >>
